Edgar Miraku
Bio
Edgar has been involved with Oklahoma Peak since its creation as co-founder and Board Member, as a coach and handles other duties including budgets, player and team registrations, Nationals Qualifiers, AES, etc.
Most recently Edgar and his Peak 17-1 Elite team won the 2024-25 GJNC National Championship USA Division, the first for Oklahoma Peak and Oklahoma Region at the 17’s age group Division.
He is the current Head Coach @ University of Central Oklahoma with a 302-93 (.764) record in 12 Seasons. His college career includes:
-NCAA Regionals Championship and MIAA Conference Championship for 2024 season, MIAA regular season Conference Championship in 2015
-NCAA DII Tournament – 2015, 2017, 2024
-13 NCAA All Americans, 14 All Region players; two Conference Freshmen of the Year, three Conference Player of the Year, two MIAA Coach of the Year awards
With Oklahoma Peak and throughout his club coaching career of over 27 years Edgar has mostly coached 17’s age group with a few seasons at 18’s, 16’s & 14’s age divisions. Edgar’s teams have earned seven top 10 finishes at Nationals (GJNC) including two third place finishes in 2013-14 & 2017-18 seasons. His Oklahoma Peak 17’s teams have won 11 National Qualifiers and were National runner-up at AAU National Championships, Premier Division in 2023-24 season .
Edgar has previously served as Head Coach for USA Volleyball- Men’s National Sitting Team for two years, and assistant for seven years representing USA home and abroad in major international competitions. In addition, he coached at Edmond Memorial HS for seven seasons (209-48) where they earned four HS State Championships. Edgar also served on the OK Region Board for 20 years.
Edgar and his wife, Amy, have a daughter, Abiana and a son, Arden. Abiana is a former Peak player and coach – she served as assistant to the 2024-25 National Championship 17-1 Elite team.
